Shipping Begins

This coming weekend, shipping on Dinocalypse Now begins in earnest!

Throughout this week we're getting Dinocalypse Now orders out to our international customers (an incredibly time consuming process thanks to customs forms that we've offloaded to our usual shipper, Alliance).

This weekend, a crew of folks from Endgame out in Oakland, California will ship out the bulk of our unsigned soft and hardcover Dinocalypse Now domestic orders.

Also this weekend, Fred will be driving up to Chuck Wendig's place in Pennsylvania to get the signed hardcover books autographed and personalized. Shipping of those (and associated goodies) will start in the following week, and will go as fast as Fred's schedule can manage (probably most of the week).

And remember, Dinocalypse Now is up on Amazon (and other places). If you can take the time to post a review, whether there or on a forum or blog you frequent, it'll help a bunch.

Thanks!

Dinocalypse Now: Hell Comes to Hollywood!

Hey all,

Making good on another one of our promises, today we've released the Spirit of the Century/Dinocalypse Now tie-in adventure Hell Comes to Hollywood. It's a free download and you can grab it at DriveThruRPG (using the same login you created for DriveThruFiction):

http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/102090/Dinocalypse-Now%3A-Hell-Comes-to-Hollywood---A-Spirit-of-the-Century-Adventure

Personally I'm very proud of this adventure. For one it's bigger than I originally expected -- clocking in at nearly 40 pages in Spirit of the Century's 6x9 page format. But Brian Engard, the author, and the rest of the team, really dug into the question not only of how to do a good tie-in, but also how to structure a good adventure scenario that suits the Spirit of the Century paradigm.

Then add onto all that the stellar art that fellow backer Jayna Pavlin provided to the project as another component of her backing. If nothing else, you should check this adventure out to see what she did.

EDIT: I neglected to mention when I first posted this that Dinocalypse Now is up on Amazon (and other places) -- if you've read the book and can spare a few moments to post a review, it'd be a big boost for us. Thanks!

In other news, yesterday I received (and approved) both the hardcover and softcover proofs of Dinocalypse Now.  Here's a peek...

Dinocalypse Now: General Preorder & Ebook

Chuck Wendig’s Dinocalypse Now is now up for general preorder!

You can order the ebook bundle now, too, if you want to stay all digital (or are, y’know, international and not wanting to pay shipping costs in excess of its cover price).

We’ll be shipping this one mid-June or so if it all works out (we have to print the books & deliver them to the Kickstarter backers who made this all possible first).

I’ll edit this post with links to other sales locales as they become available, so stay tuned if you prefer using DriveThruFiction, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble!

The eBooks Are Ready!

Folks,

With only 23 survey responses pending, I took a guess on those email addresses and have moved ahead to the deployment stage with the finalized Dinocalypse Now ebooks!

All backers at $10 and up should get an email sometime in the next 48 hours (so, by mid-day Thursday) from onebookshelf.com or drivethrufiction.com -- they're the same company -- with a download code and instructions for grabbing your all-the-ebook-formats package of Dinocalypse Now digital goodness. Make sure to check those spam filters just in case!

That's not all that's going on, of course.

Yesterday, I finalized the $25-and-up backer credits for Dinocalypse Now and got those files off to the printers for the hard and soft cover editions. My rough guess at turn-around time on that is about a month, so I'd expect us to see shipment starting in early June for those of you who selected Dinocalypse Now as one of your book titles.

Art for the Dinocalypse-themed Spirit of the Century adventure, set in Los Angeles, is continuing to come in from fellow backer Jayna Pavlin and it's looking really fun. I'm planning to take Brian Engard's adventure into layout early next week and have it out to folks a week or so after.

And by the way, thanks to everyone who has preordered Don't Read This Book or bought it in ebook form -- and especially thanks to folks who've left some reviews on sites like Amazon. If you want a little peek inside how that's been going, check out my recent blog post.

Watch the skies!

The Surveys Are In!

Thanks to everyone who hard-charged this past week to get those surveys answered. We've had an incredible response rate, with only a handful of people left who haven't responded. (For that matter, the number of "errored out" pledges -- ones which couldn't be collected, which always happens for a few on any project -- has been really small, only about 5. This is great!)

If you haven't responded to your backer survey yet, please do so we can get right on top of delivering rewards as soon as they're available. Names for the "thank you" page(s) of the book are locked in by this point, but we still need all the rest of the info.

With luck, we'll be able to deliver the final, multi-format package of Dinocalypse Now ebooks to backers within a week, and the books within a month or so (longer if they need to be signed or otherwise customized). Stay tuned!
